Pretty-N-Pink

Pink is definitely a signature color at our house. Most of the girl's furniture has been painted pink. The awful metal cart I posted last night, I spray painted a very glossy (Barbie looking) pink. I am really happy with how it turned out (the pics don't do it justice).

Before painting, I sanded and scraped the loose paint (which was loads of fun). The cart was very rusty. I probably got some lead poisioning. Just kidding.

Moving on...

With the left over paint I made a DIY chalkboard.

Lastly, I posted this side table (that was white) a while back. I freshened her up with a lighter satin pink.

Now it's time for bed.

Thrifty Junk Thursday no. 10

Hey folks! Tonight it's going to be a short post. I've been working all day.
I got this awful metal cart from a garage sale for $3.

Most people would pass this treasure up, but not me. I can't wait to show the redo tomorrow.

Have a restful night.

Thrifty Find Updates and More...

Good evening. Hope all is well. I'm finishing up my mini vacation. I stayed home, hoping to accomplish a long chore list (but you know how that goes). I was finally successful with painting my bed. I love it! I will be posting pics soon. I have painted a ton this past week. Tonight I'm going to share a couple of pieces.
This side table I got for only $2.

Next, here is a Thrifty Thursday from a couple of weeks ago. I think I may need to stencil something on the front.

Painting Extravaganza

Today, I finally did some major painting. My lungs are burning and my nostrils are sticking together. And I'm still not done. I hit the mother load sale yesterday, so I got the spray paint going. Those of you who have followed  me for a while, know I love spray paint. I especially love forklift black paint (very tough stuff).

Can't wait to show you the finished products!

Thrifty Junk Thurday no.8

How has everyone been this week? I'm on my mini stay-cation. Yeah!
Tonight I'm sharing a trash pick. This summer I pulled over to pick up two of these cornices.

Mom started to make curtains for the kitchen, however we ran out of fabric. Once the two side panels are added, I think it will be really cute.

Finally, I have started painting my bed!

Hopefully, I will have it completely painted by tomorrow.

Have a restful night.

Thrifty Junk Thursday no. 7

Tonight folks I've got a metal cabinet.

I bought this at a moving sale this summer for $3. Next week I start my vacation, so I hope to get it painted finally.

On to other things...

Today was Lilly's 5th birthday.
We had a mini family party. In a few weeks we are having a costume birthday party, so stay tuned.

Lilly and I made a simple homemade cake. I had to jazz it up a bit, so we took out wall stencils, cookie cutters and some colored sugar. I carefully sprinkled the sugar inside the stencil/cookie cutter, and it looked pretty good. Then Lilly found a pig cookie cutter. She decided a purple pig would complete the cake, so we added a pig too.

While we ate our cake, we heard a knock at the door. There were two terrified boys about nine or ten year's old standing (with the deer in headlights look). They said they were from the Boy Scouts, even though they didn't have their "vestes" on (I internally chuckled). I figured this must be a sales call for popcorn. Instead, they were there to "do a good deed". I thought it was so sweet. Then the boys offered to rake my yard, which is pretty big. I told them that would be fine, but I didn't expect them to do the whole yard. Just do what they thought was the right amount. I gave them a couple of rakes and went inside. I sent Maddie out with some cupcakes to feed them and about fifteen minutes later they were at the door. The boy who seem to do most of the talking said, "this looks like a pretty good amount...this should do you good".

I nearly lost it. There was a 1 x 2ft pile of leaves. They raked a 10 x 10ft area(maybe). I thanked them over and over again. They proudly jumped on their bikes and were on their way. Then I laughed my butt off.

Have a good evening.

B-I-N-G-O!

How's everyone tonight?
Life has been stressful and busy for me.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the older you get the more your body hurts. Also, you become tired faster. I use to work night shift and I could stay up for two days straight. Now, I'm in bed by 9pm. What's up with that?

Anyway...

Mother purchased these bingo cards for me at the Country Living fair. I think I might frame them. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I've got so many projects going on that it's embarrassing. I start one thing then move on to another (before finishing the first). Have I ever confessed that I'm ADD? I can't remember if I have. Unfortunately, I'm not being funny (I am, but I'm not). I really do have it. Trying to stay on task sometimes is impossible.
Here is an example:

These gourds I grew last year. They've dried out and are ready to be painted/or whatever. First, I was going to make them into bird houses (never got around to it). Then, I was going to make them candle holder things I saw on Pinterest (never got to it). Now, I'm going to paint them white and turn them into ghosts. See what I mean? What's an ADD girl to do? And this is just the beginning.

Moving on...

See? I'm even jumping in this blog.

Did everyone from the Midwest to the east coast get their mumkins? If you have a child, grandchild or neighbor that's in elementary school you know what it is. If not, let me tell you. It's an overpriced mum inside of a half pumpkin.

I paid $25 for this thing. The proceeds do help the PTO, which makes me feel a little better. The other two mums in the pic were $3.99 from the butcher.

Enough of my rambling.
Have a good evening.

Hugs,
