Garden Fever

As many of you know last year was my first garden. I've been day dreaming about year two, so have the girls.

We've been surveying the property carefully. I'm slightly worried because last year the garden was in a flood zone (according to my neighbor). We were very lucky because there were no floods, however this spring there were a few suprises.

(This is the exact same area the girls are standing in the pic above.)

I want to triple the size this year. I just can't wait!!!! My brain is constantly spinning with ideas.

Maybe if we click our boots three times...

And say...

There's no place like my garden!

We will be there.

Hugs,

WAKE UP!

Hey Everyone! I'm back! Hope all of you are well. I owe you my deepest apologies for my long absence. I especially owe Terry Scott an apology, since I haven't sent her camera yet! Terry I am sending an extra something special with your prize, so please forgive me. I've been in a bit of a blogging rut. I even thought about closing shop. Then my mother reminded me how much I enjoyed blogging, and how it decreased my stress. And that is what I need right now.

So here we go...

I must love you all. I'm sitting in a rough area of the city at a McDonald's (and I hate McDonald's), so I can get free WiFi (remember I no longer have Internet). I may get mugged on the way out for my laptop. LOL.

Anyway...

Easter is around the corner. Mom and the girls modge podged plastic eggs with wrapping and tissue paper.

The cake pedestal we found at an auction in February for $7.50 (along with a cheese platter). I painted and distressed it.

Poppy is feeling better. I'm trying to convince him to let me take a pic of him with his walker for you (LOL). Thanks for all the prayers.

Have a good night!

One last thing...
Here is some Harry Belafonte to get you going.

Update!

Thank you everyone for the prayers.
Poppy (my grandfather) is home and doing well with his new stents, pacemaker and ICD (defibrillator). The man has had an extreme tune-up (with still more to come). We are very happy with how well things have gone for him.

As for the ex-husband, the next hearing is in April. I'm just trying to put it in the back of my brain for right now, and try not to dwell.

Lastly, the ground is finally good and dry. There was only one other day with water shooting from the house.

Thank you everyone again!

Temporary LOA

Sorry it's been awhile since the last post. Things around the Rented Cottage have been a little stressful. I've been working on projects, but haven't felt like posting. My ex-husband has decided to grace our lives again with his presence. He is taking me back to court to change his parental rights, so I'm dealing with that mess. Also, as you can see from the picture above we had a flash flood. Yes, that is water pouring out of the house. We are all good, just a damp basement to deal with. Lastly, my grandfather is in the ICU with some cardiac problems. Please say a little prayer for him. I will be returning soon.

Hope all is well with you.

Hugs,

My Valentine

Hope all of you are well.
Today Maddie and I made rice crispy treats. We cut them out with a heart cookie cutter then placed them in cupcake liners, for her Valentine's party at preschool. This was the easiest and probably one the laziest treats made this year. I just can't get motivated.

Anyway...

Later Maddie couldn't wait to give me a Valentine's present.
She went to an antique store with my Grandmother and found something I would just "LOVE!"
And she was right!

She picked it all by herself.

I've been very lucky in the gift department this week.

Please don't forget to enter the camera giveaway.

Have a restful night.

Best Birthday Gifts Ever!

Today I'm 33 years old. Please do not feel the need to wish me happy birthday. I was hoping to slide by with no one noticing. However, Maddie and Lilly insisted on a surprise party. The party consisted of Maddie, Lilly and myself. My mother sent over a pineapple cake (bless her) and helped the girls make gifts.

Maddie is putting on the candles, plus sampling the cream cheese frosting.

The girls made "Love Boxes" for my gifts. They were the most precious things I've ever received.

Have a great day.

Hugs,

Stylish Bloggers

Receiving the Stylish Blogger Award from Flora Doora was very exciting! Now it's time for me to nominate ten other Stylish Blogs.
This was a very difficult decision, because I do love you all. I tried to come up with a wide range of blogs.

Here are the nominees!

1. Madelief -She is one the most stylish blog ladies I've come across. Her photos are absolutely beautiful. Every aspect of her and the blog are stylish. She is European, that says it all.

2.The Vintage House Wife- This gal is very unique. I found this wanna be 40's 50's house wife and her cute pink trailer a few weeks ago. And I just love the music!

3.Verde Farm- This is one very stylish farm blog. Amy and Richie have restored a very lovely home in Huntington, WV. They offer tours and have a story book cottage for vacationers.

4.Sweet Magnolias Farm-Daughter and Mother, Sara and Abbey make the most amazing aprons you've ever seen. I can't believe these girls dumpster dive, because there blog is so elegant!

5.Sweet Pea Home-Shelley Price has the quaintest little garden cottage. This gal is antique dealer, junk lover and crafter.

Nominees please grab the Stylish Blogger Award, share seven things about yourselves and pass the award along to ten other bloggers.

I will return soon with the five other nominees.
Please visit the new Stylish Bloggers.
Have a good night.
