RICK RACK MANIA

I absolutely LOVE rick rack!

(Can you remember the last time you paid 13 cents for something?)

This is one of the cheapest and easist ways to embellish something.

Remember thoses shelves that irritated me?

Well, with a little Rick Rack and the gluegun...

You can improve anything!

Have a restful evening.

Office Continued...

I finally finished the curtains for the office yesterday. I'm pretty happy with the end result. However, the office is still not finished. Imagine that (I confessed to procrastination on a previous post).

I had to cut up an old sheet to extend the length of the panel. This was my first ruffle ever (I was terrified, but I survived it)!

I'm working on some more sewing projects today. Just an FYI I no longer have Internet or cable. Yes, that's right. I'm trying to save some money, so we'll see how that goes. My house is cleaner and I'm getting more rest (since there's nothing to do). The kids and I are doing more crafts and playing together.  I'll keep you updated with our prehistoric progress. I'm still going to blog over at my parents house.
Hope all of you are well.
See you soon.

Hugs,

Back to the Basics

The first year after I moved back to small town living, all I could think about was moving back to the city. I wanted to be ten minutes from Target and twenty minutes from work. Constantly, I complained about this town (that I was raised in). One day I woke-up last winter and decided I was going to have my first garden. I was going to grow organic food and save money.  As the months passed my feelings began to change about city life. I realized my children seemed carefree, enjoying things they never would have if they were living in the city. Then the day came when I opened my mouth and said "I would really like to buy a farm." I couldn't believe I said it. A few months later my jawed dropped when I said " I'm going to raise chickens", and I hate birds! I feel like I've become bumpkinfied (yes I made up this word)!

Anyway...

Now, I really enjoy reading books about gardening, raising chickens and other down-home-livin things. Recently, I read Back to the Basics by Andrea Chesman. I recommend this book if you're looking for basic living. This is an easy read and condenses a lot of information.  Chickens, gardening, composting, canning and beehives are some of the subjects covered. Back to the Basics is available at Barnes and Noble for $17.29.

Have a good night.

Vacation is over!

I'm writing from my mother's house. My modem is about to go south and on Thursday Maddie decided to jam a DVD (without permission) into my 5 month old laptop. Needless to say, I'm having computer difficulties.

Anyway...

Today is the last day of my vacation. I wish I had accomplished more than I did. I finally started (and almost finished) my office makeover. Which has been long overdue. I'm very excited! Hopefully, I can share it with you next weekend.
Here's a sneak peek!

Camera Shelving Project

How is everyone this snowy night?  I'm tired. I finally completed the shelving project, unfortunately the photos were terrible. I plan on taking new ones during daylight hours tomorrow, so here's a little peek. I'm extremely happy with the end result, however I still have lots of homeless cameras.

Anyway...

Late Christmas Gift!

To my surprise, I received a late Christmas gift from my mother.
She had purchased a box of old cameras at a sale last summer. Mother put them away to save as a Christmas gift, however she had forgotten them. Some of my early followers know how much I love cameras! I've had a couple of camera posts.

Stay tuned in for tomorrow's post.
I'm working on a display project with the yard sale shelves.

One last thing...

Friday will be the first ever
Giveaway!

Have a good evening!
Hugs,
      Jess
